Film Plot and Story Arc

We have finally decided the plot to our movie. After being inspired by the protagonist from Fish Tank we decided to use the traits from Mia and incorporate it into our own protagonist therefore our protagonist is a troublesome child. He is fed up with his own life so therefore retreats to crime to supplement the lack of interest in his life. Then one day, after getting in to some kind of fight with a group of men, he is omitted to the local hospital. While resting in hospital, a profoundly disabled, elderly man encounters him in his hospital bed. This man becomes attached to him and inspires him to appreciate his own life, as it’s better than some. When the boy is sleeping, the old man comes across the boy’s diary. The man discovers an immense talent in the boy, that being writing. The boy wakes up and catches the old man reading his diary and becomes infuriated with the old man. He ignores the man for a few days and actually becomes quite aggressive leading the boy to enter into the man’s house and trash it. The boy doesn’t only trash the old man’s house because the man read his diary, but he was triggered to trash the man’s house because after returning back from hospital he discovers that his family had packed up their house and left, leaving him no-where to live. The old man returns home and finds the boy amongst his trashed house lying in the old man’s litter, the boy is weeping uncontrollably. Because the old man is kindly and pardoning he embraces the boy and offers the boy to live with him. The boy accepts and throughout the man’s remaining months (because a lump of cancer is found) the man encourages the boy to write more about his experiences. Eventually the man dies and the boy carries on writing. The boy manages to get his stories published after sending it to a publishing company. The boy’s first book comes out and he dedicates it to the old man. Then the film finishes.

For the first two minutes we are only going to try and capture the personality of the boy and show how troublesome he is with out going into the plot too much. This will involve him pursuing several antics that makes his character the type that does not care about any-one else and causes trouble and pain to other people.

Here is the story arch for our film:
