This film is a huge inspiration to me and I feel it could have alot of influence in our coursework. It is also an independant film in the sense that it is like no other film and it is a very unusual story line. The story line follows the journey of one man's search to find himself through escaping the pollution of society. He wants to clear his mind from the distractions and nonsense of media and society influence and find himself in a pure and natural environment. So he burns all his money, cheques and identity and escapes into the woods and outback of Alaska, Canada... Into the Wild! During his travels he meets many a strange folk that teach him the ways of the world. He ventures into the peaceful mountains of Alaska and during his adventure he encounters a random bus, which he names 'The Magic Bus.' Here he builds a home for himself and lives of the land like man used to do 1000s of years ago. It is not just the vivacious and striking mountainous lands of America that blows my mind, but also the way that it is filmed. I feel we could draw out many of the traits of this film and incorporate it into our own masterpiece.
